What a disgrace.
How many quality scoring chances did the Devils actually have tonight? Two? Three maybe?
This is getting ugly now, especially since every team in the Atlantic Division (yes, even the Flyers) are playing relatively well…except for New Jersey.
(Not so) Fun facts: Brian Rafalski is -10. Patrik Elias is -12 after tonight’s game. Rest of the team? Well, they combine for a grand total of -75. Beautiful defense boys, beautiful defense. Makes it even better that they can’t score more than half a goal a game these days…
PS~ I still hate Brad Lukowich.

Bring back Fahey! or even McGillis! Lukowich is horrible. He turned the puck over, missed assignments, and was skated around on every solid San Jose opportunity (and goal) last night. I don’t care if he has two rings, he’s single handedly destroying the Devils’ defense.

The fact that the Devils held off a strong San Jose offense (and the best power play in the NHL) for over 50 minutes is credit enough. Defensive mistakes get magnified when the offense couldn’t put a beach ball in the net.
The Devils really need to learn how to solve defenses that collapse. Carolina did it to them in last season’s playoffs to great success (and frustration on NJ’s end) and it’s what been causing the Devils so many fits on offense so far this season. If they can score more regularly, they don’t need to try and get shutouts every game. They have the talent, they just need the patience and the puck movement…

The Devils will turn it around, they have way too many talented players to stay in a rut like this for long.

yea but if the 5 million dollar baby (gomez) and elias dont start scoring the devs are in a hell of alot of trouble but im pulling for them lets pray the devs can turn this 4 game losing streak around when they come home to the east coast this friday.. I think marty needs a rest very soon though he has play wat close to 17 game in a row i think clemmy needs a game or to so marty can get some very needed rest
