Mosey on over to the Battle of New York blog for some good stuffs. There’s this really good interview on there…man, whoever they interviewed really knows what they’re talking about. Oh yeah. Seriously. It’s worth a read if I do say so myself.

I like Kopitar, I’ve had him on my fantasy team for half the season and know what an all-around game he has, he plays short-handed, wins faceoffs and he’s still a teen. I’d still probably take Malkin just because he’s so dominant offensively, but that answer could change in a couple years.
We can joke about Elias and his lack of prowess in the shootout but it does seem like a lot of big-names struggle in the skills competition. Jagr hasn’t been that great in it, even Crosby was 0-for the season before the All-Star game.

I am probably in the minority on this but I’ll take Staal. I am just really impressed with what I’ve seen from this kid. To step into the NHL right from the draft and be as solid overall as he is is amazing. And to think the Pens were considering sending him back. I think the other two obviously are great players. So you can’t go wrong with any of them.
It seems more and more teams are giving rookies a shot at a younger age. This is one of the best things about the cap era NHL. That instead of having a more costly vet take up a spot, they’ll see if a kid can stick.
I’ll say this for Elias. At least he tries in the shootout unlike another captain.
