Nothing against Clemmer, but Weekes caught the shaft. Also, The Drury goal was partially Oduya's fault. If he gets back fast enough, Drury can't even get a shot off. I know Weekes needs to make the save, but the whole team played like crap that game.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('26377','Mouse','Nothing against Clemmer, but Weekes caught the shaft.
Scott, just wondering but how long are you going to call Clemmer a career AHLer. He's done nothing but win us games. And yes maybe he doesn't have the big career stats like Weekes, but Clemmer had to sit behind brodeur for the first bunch of seasons he was in the league.

I was just wondering if you are ever gunna support him. Hes been playing very well, vs. Philly, and vs. Montreal.

The Habs Devils game last night was a veyr exciting game to watch, especially for a 2-1 game. Carey Price and Scott Clemmensen put on a show.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('26340','Marc','Scott, just wondering but how long are you going to call Clemmer a career AHLer.
As long as Langenbrunner is putting up good numbers (like he did last month)... you can't take him off that line... however... take him off the damn point already!! (though it would have cost me my moment of hilarity on that 5 on 3 against the Islanders).

Let me simply ask why EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE can play their kids and just see what happens (which by the way is VERY important to winning in a Salary-Capped world because you can't stock up on veterans... well unless you have a 4th line of stiffs like Rupp), but with 3 forwards 2 defense and your franchise goalie on the shelf.... that's a more of a need for change then the President-Elect ran on :p

I do agree 1000% it's not like we have some hot prospect goalie that we want to see sink or swim like Brodeur did 15 years ago... tossing Weekes under the bus for a career AHLer... not cool
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('26304','Scott Mackie','As long as Langenbrunner is putting up good numbers (like he did last month)... you can\'t take him off that line... however... take him off the damn point already!!
re langenbrunner... i would move him down for rolston faster than you can say, well, langenbrunner. but not for a prospect. then with madden, clarkson and langs, you have your 3 quality lines and they're all experienced nhl'ers. with one veteran out, you give kids a chance... with 4-6 out, you have to go with the players that you feel you can rely on, and hang on by your fingernails. you have to slot prospects in situations where they play with veterans to give them their best chance to succeed unless you are just giving up on the season, and i don't think any of us are doing that. if you want to have a "kid line" fine, but they are only going to see limited time unless the game is a blowout either way.

the way weekes has been treated is BEYOND disgusting. clemmer has done well, but you can't elevate him to "brodeur status" and have weekes sit with no chance to play. sutter must be the only guy in the organization that doesn't like weekes, you can see by kevin's interaction with the players that they all like him. he should be getting at least 50% of the games until he really blows the opportunity. one loss to the rags when the whole team played like crap should not have cost him like this.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('26295','rick','re langenbrunner... i would move him down for rolston faster than you can say, well, langenbrunner. but not for a prospect. then with madden, clarkson and langs, you have your 3 quality lines and they\'re all experienced nhl\'ers. with one veteran out, you give kids a chance... with 4-6 out, you have to go with the players that you feel you can rely on, and hang on by your fingernails. you have to slot prospects in situations where they play with veterans to give them their best chance to succeed unless you are just giving up on the season, and i don\'t think any of us are doing that. if you want to have a \"kid line\" fine, but they are only going to see limited time unless the game is a blowout either way. \r\n\r\nthe way weekes has been treated is BEYOND disgusting. clemmer has done well, but you can\'t elevate him to \"brodeur status\" and have weekes sit with no chance to play. sutter must be the only guy in the organization that doesn\'t like weekes, you can see by kevin\'s interaction with the players that they all like him. he should be getting at least 50% of the games until he really blows the opportunity. one loss to the rags when the whole team played like crap should not have cost him like this.'); return false;">Quote

Jay Leach did not play in November....

I think I explained that though
Langenbrunner still plays too much
most of our good top forwards are older guys (minus Zajac and Parise)... over-playing them now is going to burn them out later in crunch time, and how can you rate the skills of a Vrana and a Bergfors if they don't get a sniff of useful ice time (or even play in garbage time games to SHOW SOMETHING)

Yes this team is good now
but imagine a productive Vrana or Bergfors out there... then it's THREE quality lines and a 4th line who takes names and heads!

It was the PROPER TIME to let the kids play with so many vets out... see what they got and not burn out what is there, it'a penny-wise and dollar foolish!!

Not to mention I'm disgusted on how Weekes has been tossed aside too
Reply - Quote

my only question is if the top 6 forwards are all graded B+ or higher, how can you gripe about prospects not getting enough time on the ice? like it or not, we need to have a "checking line" so if we're not going to mess with the success of the first two lines, all thats left is 4th line or garbage time. i'm not sold on sutter, i'd love to see burns back behind tthe bench, but i don't think you can beat up the coach for not playing prospects when its going to be tough slotting rolston on a top line.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('26277','rick','my only question is if the top 6 forwards are all graded B+ or higher, how can you gripe about prospects not getting enough time on the ice? like it or not, we need to have a \"checking line\" so if we\'re not going to mess with the success of the first two lines, all thats left is 4th line or garbage time. i\'m not sold on sutter, i\'d love to see burns back behind tthe bench, but i don\'t think you can beat up the coach for not playing prospects when its going to be tough slotting rolston on a top line.'); return false;">Quote
