THROWBACK NIGHT!

Boys and girls, a day I never expected to come with Louie Lams in charge is, in fact, coming. I’m a little surprised that I get to type these words, but here goes:

On one day only – March 17th, 2010 – the New Jersey Devils will don their old red, white, and green jerseys for the game that night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Yeah, you read that right. Christmas Tree jerseys on St. Patrick’s Day!

I already had this date circled on my calendar because of the glorious time had last season for the St. Patty’s home game, but now, this game is a definite must. It’s the closest the Devils have ever or possibly will ever come to donning a third jersey.

The next question, of course: Will there be red, white, and green jerseys sold in the upcoming season? That day only? Not at all?

Regardless, I think it’s safe to say St. Patrick’s Day will be a memorable day for Devils fans again this season.

DEADLINE DAY 2009 :: 2MA STYLE!

Well, here we are! A hockey fan’s second Christmas — the NHL Trade Deadline is upon us.

Just like a little kid waiting for St. Nick, I’ve sat up a little later than I probably should have.

Be sure to join Josh, Stephen, (I KNOW!!) Scott, & Myself for a helluva good time. We’ll be covering D-Day in typical 2MA fashion — which means we will frantically try to keep you up-to-the-minute with trades and that so-good-it-must-be-fattening 2MA banter. I’m sure we’ll inevitably end up crashing the site a few times as well, as we all try to monkey around with the HTML at the same time.

I’ll be up bright and early, see you guys around 10am!

The Eve of the Opener

Well folks, it starts tomorrow. Game one of eighty-two. To me, it really feels like Christmas Eve.

A bigger, stronger, and faster Devils team will take the ice tomorrow night at The Rock. Martin Brodeur will don the newly designed mask for the very first time as he resumes his quest to overtake Patrick Roy’s wins record. Brian Rolston & Bobby Holik will make their returns to the Garden State.

I’m drooling. The long off-season is finally over and for the first time in three years, Red & Black will christen the new season on home ice, and against a cross-town rival nonetheless. Home openers are great, but Home season-openers are even better. The Rock will be even louder and more decorated than last season, I’m sure.

I will be in attendance myself — section 122 / Row 12 on the aisle — stop by between periods or before the drop of the puck and we’ll have a beer and talk Devils! It would be great to hear from YOU – the readers – face to face and give me some feedback on what you would like to see more/less of right here at 2MA! While you’re at it, you could print out and bring a copy of THIS with you… I’d be happy to autograph it for you. čśë

Make sure you hunt down Josh as well and tell him how awesome his 90’s Music Blog is and talk live-cap with him!

In all seriousness, tomorrow night can’t get here soon enough. See you all at Fan-Fest!!
