This summer sucked.
First, the Devils lose early in the playoffs. No need to go over that again.
Then, they sign like, no one (Pikkachu notwithstanding).
Then, our site goes all broken.
But now my friends, the air is crisp, the skies are cloudy and heavy, the leaves and acorns are crunchy under my feet, the hoodies and hockey jerseys are out of the closet – kids, it’s hockey season again. And 2MA is back.
Be sure to do a few things before we start: Check out the post below, where Scott discusses the final pre-season game in the way only Scott Mackie can. Then, go add us of Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/twomanadvantage). That way if our site ever decides to disappear again, you’ll know about it there. Thirdly, go add us on Twitter, too (@2MAblog). It’s mostly me twittering…tweeting…twitting…whatever, but I’ve grown heartily addicted to it.
Next order of business: If you’re not seeing it already, you will shortly be seeing a BRAND NEW layout to our site, to bring it more in line with the other NY SportsDay sites. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know the new layout all that well yet, so if you see anything buggy, let us know. If you’re confused or threatened by change, give it a little while and see what you think.
With a new layout comes a new logo, designed again by the amazing Dustin Todd. Those of you on the Facebook have already seen it, and it looks way more hardcore than our old logo. I approve.
The Zubbies (previously known as the ZubbieCounterContest Zubmission awards) will be coming, hopefully Friday, but failing that, as soon as I can afterwards. It’s been a rough month for me, between school and two jobs, but it’s easing up a bit, and I’ll get something up for y’all soon enough.
I don’t think we’re going to bother with a big season preview like we have in years past. Let’s face it, if we try to look too far down the line at this season, or consider where we stand compared to other teams – there’s a good chance we could cry. And no one wants that. I’m willing to ride the wave of this season without thinking about what’s ahead if you’re willing to do the same.
Here’s to a wonderful, crazy 2009-2010 journey!
