Alexander Korolyuk is still a New Jersey Devil…well, in name at least.
Because the disgruntled Russian failed to report to his Sharks physical, San Jose cancelled the deal with the Devils, leaving New Jersey with a talented winger who just doesn’t want to play in North America. The Sharks get their third round pick back.
For those who are scratching their heads wondering who the heck Korolyuk even is, he was originally acquired from the Sharks back in October for fellow disgruntled Russian Vlad Malakhov and a conditional first round pick. No word on whether the first round pick was disgruntled or not, though.
In zero games this year, Korolyuk has registered zero goals and zero assists for zero points. Oh, he also has zero penalty minutes and skates at a plus zero….err…rather, even. Now THAT’S consistency.

I listened to the press report during the shark game intermission yesterday, It seems Korolyuk wanted to join the sharks to chase the stanley cup but the Russian League wouldnt let him go (malkin ran into the same type of problems)
In the russian elite league this season hes posted 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists) in 39 games this season, which might not sound too impressive but they only have the 1st assist system (they dont count 2nd assists) there so id give him more credit
cheers

It’s too bad, because he’s got alot of skills, and damn, he sure is a fast skater!
Hey, nice site! It’s my kind of style! I was wondering if there was any Devils blogs out there!
Greg from the Fourth Period referred me to you. I’ll be back!

Awwwww, but that third round pick was going to seal the deal for the Devils winning the Stanley Cup!
Sarcasm aside, it makes sense that the deal was cancelled considering Korolyuk isn’t coming to the NHL. Incidentally, I thought it was his decision not to come back and not the RSL?
Zanstorm: Seek and you may find…I read that in a book somewhere, it’s pretty cool.
