He will earn an average of $3.4-million a season.
Zubrus split last season with the Washington Capitals and Buffalo Sabres, registering 24 goals and 36 assists for 60 points.
Best of yet, the 6′4″ 225 pound Lithuanian plays at center, effectively replacing recently departed Scott Gomez.
Oh, and he’s 29.

oh yes, i’m satisfied for the moment. i think last year was his best yet, so who knows what’ll happen with the devils, i think he’ll either be great, or be gomez (w/out the superb puck handling). but in any case i’m happy. i remember when this guy was w/the shitty flyers when they were actually um, okay in the late 90’s, or maybe that was when they sucked again, i forget it was a long time ago but i do believe they traded him for recci which was saying a lot. then he went through the habs organization so he should be decent w/the devs i hope.

I am very happy with this signing, Zubie is big, and knows how to put the puck ON the net, unlike an overpayed Mexican that shall remain nameless. Great signing. He scored 24 goals last season, so in Glen Sather math he is worth about 95 million dollars.

i have his name associated with the caps, in my mind, that is, so i’m just a lil bit sceptical right now, i wonder who else is there, and i’m shitting my pants at the same time when looking at those names. (rachunek, oh man come on, please let this be a trade or something)

I hear he is hard to motivate, kinda like Viktor Kozlov was, awesome potential…key word potential….I guess it depends on our coach, if we ever get one.

well this is nice….
zubrus was a good pick. a nice snag..he’s no gomez, but he’s big, strong, fast, can score, can play center, about 30 million dollars cheaper and he’s czech so patty can have someone to chat with.
well see how this plays out..i’m still hoping for souray and arnott though

and he’s younger
July 3rd, 2007 at 6:53 pm
he’s NOT czech, he’s lithuanian
July 3rd, 2007 at 7:08 pm
1) He’s Lithuanian, which should be good enough to talk to Sarge.
2) Hopefully Lou still wants to get Souray or Arnott, because Rachunek isn’t going to cut it.
3) A request: please, let’s agree to not nickname him “Zube” or anything with the long ‘o’ sound. It’s really annoying to hear the hometown fans sound like they’re booing their own team. Other poor examples, Johan “Moose” Hedberg, Brian “Bouche” Boucher, Bruce Driver, even Roberto Luongo has one, but I don’t remember it at the moment.

Don’t even think about taking number 15 from Langenbrunner, Zubrus! until next season starts, he is still a saber to me and man, he’s got a hell of a lot to prove to make me think otherwise.
Why, Lukowich, why???
I think I got attached to him without even realizing it…
