Were there any Black players on the Devils before Oduya? Now it’s him and Weekes.
Still waiting for a Jew, Lou! I wanted Schneider…
I guess that We won’t be calling Him Devil Killer anymore.
Awesome pick up, very serviceable back up and he should get more playing time to help keep Marty fresh. I wonder what will happen with the logjam of goalies down in Lowell (Doyle, Smith, Parise) I think Doyle is a FA and he will probably sign with another organization.
Yes there were 2 that jump into My head, from the 80′s Claude Vilgrain, and Sean Brown He left not too long ago.I can’t recall anyone else though.
Like Brian said, a very serviceable back up. Nice move.

Hehe, Shari beat me to it!
Weeeeeekesssssss
Great sign, he can relieve Marty alot better than Clemmensen, im sure of it
no more scotts. well weekes is for sure a better pick than clemmy, i hope he plays well for us though.
I like this signing a lot. The Devils are kind of hamstrung when it comes to goaltender shopping. No goalie worth his pads wants to be in a situation where he can’t even compete for the starting job. Yet the Devils need a quality backup for Brodeur who will need more days between starts as he ages if we will be able to make more deep runs in the playoffs with him between the pipes.
I think Weekes is as good as we could hope for in this situation. He has to know he won’t get more that 15 starts per season. I hope he gets 20, but realistically, he won’t get more than 15. He is definitely an upgrade in the position over Clemminson.
Weeks is a good Goalie in His own right, but for Me it’s hard to tell how good Clemmer really was since He didn’t play much.
Weekes is a proven and very legitimate NHL goalie… great addition on our end.
clemmer was good he just never got that much of a chance. he got to come in against ottawa after marty looked terrible, he went to a shootout with the preds and he looked great but the devs couldnt for him (cause we all know when marty isnt in net the team plays totally different), and he beat the caps and getting a nice puck to the face mask by alex the great. i liked him if he only got more of a chance to start he would be better. im not a weekes fan but i guess ill have to live with it.. good luck to kevin and good luck to clemmer hope he can get his chance to start somewhere.
Sorry 2MA is losing all its favorite players
But Weekes is a pretty fair signing especially for the price. And hopefully it’s a signal Marty will ‘only’ play 65-70 games as opposed to the 78 he’s played the last two years.
If you can’t beat him, let him join? LOL
