…so here you go.
There’s absolutely nothing to report right now, so, uh, yeah. Go Devils?
No, seriously, sorry for the lack of updates folks. There just ain’t much goin’ on right now. We will be back with the fury of fifty furious flying foxes come training camp time.
Yeah, that’s right, I totally went all alliteration on yo’ asses right there. WHAT NOW?
Sorry, it’s been a long August.
WHILE WE’RE AT IT…
Seeing as things are going rather slow right now, we might as well take a moment to plug this grand ol’ site for a couple things.
Sure, we’re not ones to toot our respective horns, but it let us note that 2MA has been nominated for four awards over at the Blogger’s Choice Awards (link opens in new window).

If y’all love the site as much as we love y’all (aww!), head on over to the site and throw a vote our way. Or not. It’s cool either way.
And finally, we’re not begging or anything, but site donations would be greatly appreciated. We run this site out of pure love for the sport, the team, and writing itself, and all the great stuff you see here is funded out of our own pockets. Throw a buck or two our way and the stuffs will get even better, I gar-on-tee it!
Or don’t. It’s cool either way. Alas, the donate button is on the right side of your screen, just underneath the NY Hockey Report plug advertisement.
Tee-hee.
Regardless of votes of donations or no votes and no donations, the staff at 2MA would like to thank each and every reader of the site — we couldn’t do it without yous guys, and we have much love for all of you.

I like the Devs current Jerseys road and home. Thankfully, we are one of the few without a third Jersey. We don’t need a change. Patricia if your looking for a topic, how about the fact the Pru Center is going to be the most technically advanced facility; however, unless you have Cablevision or TimeWarner you can’t get the Devs in Hi Def!! what BS!!

Speaking of jerseys… here’s another site that’s been putting logos up against each other and the fans get to vote. Plus they have the dates listed for jersey unveilings. We’ll be twiddling our thumbs for the Devs unveiling.

That jersey concept for the Devs is f-in sweet by the way.

Not to change the subject, but has anyone received or purchased the Hockey News Yearbook that just came out ? If so, turn to the Devils page, the idiots who printed the page used Stephen Gionta’s picture instead of his brother’s ! Check it out on the section for the Shootout. I laughed when I saw it! I guess I should expect that, considering THN picked the Devils to finish 7th in the conference and the Rangers 2nd. I don’t know, I think Slats may have tinkered too much with the Rangers chemistry, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Devils finish higher than the Rangers this season.

Has anyone checked out the latest Hockey News Yearbook that just came out ? Not only did it irk me that they picked the Devils to finish 7th in the conference and the Rangers 2nd (Slats messed up the Rangers chemistry, which is why I see the Devils finished ahead of the Rangers), but I almost threw the magazine down when I looked down at the Shootout section of the Devils page. When writing about Brian Gionta, the great editor’s there used his brother’s picture (Stephen) instead!! Check it out on your nearest newstand, or wait for it to come in the mail. IDIOTS!!!

There is absolutely zero going on right now. Only thing I got going is on Fark they always have a hockey thread, so I get in there and bust on the NYR and Philly fans. Can’t wait for 2man during the season. Plenty to talk about in a few weeks.
Question are the Dev’s practicing at South Mountain again? Or are they going to practice some place else? When the arena is open will they practice in Newark?

I noticed that in the Hockey news yearbook too, did You also happen to notice in that expansion article they used it as yet another opportunity to take a shot at the Dev’s? the Dev’s won the cup 3 times and are not a Team based in Canada, it’s like get over it already. The dev’s will have a state of the art practice facility at the Newark arena and will no longer be at the South Mountain arena, I’m just not sure if it will be ready in time for the start of the Season if they will have to be at South Mountain arena for the first couple of weeks.

If the Rangers finish second and we finish seventh, based on what I see right this very second, I’d have complete blind faith that we’d take them down in the first round.
“If” was of course the operative word in that statement.

yeah the devs training camp will be at south mountian or codey arena or whatever they call it. my question is, is it open to the public?
August 25th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Yes, it is open to the public. Best idea is to call ahead though so you can get a schedule.
August 25th, 2007 at 1:13 pm
does anyone know the number for the arena where they have training camp?
August 26th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
THN has proved my point that they are bad for hockey…I don’t care if they read this or not. Their writers take shots at us every chance they get. And as much as I don’t like to go tit for tat with them…I feel the time has come to state my opinion.
I will never subscribe to THN ever again…I will create my own magazine before I ever do that.

Interesting blog item from James Mirtle, ranking Juri Coca-Cola as one of the top 5 european imports to watch this season. Even more interesting is he mentions two more (Lakos, Boumedienne) who were drafted by the Devs and who languished in Albany before being traded and returning to their home countries.

finally some new on the Devils new Jersey, sort of. Tom Guilleti (Bergen Record) has a note on his blog that the team will not have any special unveiling of their jersey, rather we’ll just have to wait until their 1st preseason game to see it:

good news is that the jersey design isn’t changing
