Laces can be tough to figure out, huh?Cancel the Jim Dowd-for-PR-Guy campaign.

The 38-year-old Jersey boy has agreed to a tryout with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Booooo.

Granted, he really had no place on the Devils, but, uh, the Flyers?

Really?

Good luck with that Jimmy. Tell Turner Stevenson we said hi.

Oh, wait…

But seriously, good luck Jim. Sorry it didn’t work out with the Devils.

It’s a better commute from Brick to Philly anyway.

Hey Be nice, I’ll be 38 in Nov. Granted I don’t play Hockey for a living, but I still walk without a cane, and I’m not at all senile. These days, You can get to Philly from Brick faster then You can get from one side of Brick to the other.

It was nice to see him back with the Devils… but I’m not too broken up to see him leave. At least with Tommy A, he stuck around and we thought we could use him. With Jimmy D, there’s nowhere for him to fit in.

Same with Rasmussen (but he doesn’t get a moniker like Erik R).

I have to agree….He’s 38 and while 38 is young for your run of the mill everyday citizen, it is not young for an NHL player. As much as I love Jim Dowd and what he’s done for the NJ Devils, I am glad we are trying to get younger.

We always knew what Dowd could do for the Team, even as an older vet He still played His game, but I always thought that Rass could do better, like He was a sleeper type player, but He never really woke up and I don’t know why. How does a 1st round draft pick never really amount to much? who knows. But at least now maybe Clarkson will get a full time roster spot and bring a spark to the team. Pre season is right around the corner and I can’t wait.

Dowd had no place on this team, we have probably one of the better 4th lines in the league now, not only in physical department but in skill-wise too (Rupp is pretty good on the PP at times, Asham is good possible 3rd liner).. Let Dowd go to the Flyers its no big deal, he probably won’t even make the team.. and if he does, then we’ll see how long he lasts against the Devils 4th line.

If you’re too anxious to wait and see the rest of the NHL jerseys, here’s a site to check em out:

Was surfing around some other team sites and found this link. They’re pictures taken from NHL 08 after they released the code to get the 07-08 jerseys.

    ENJOY!
