The Devils gave up one of said four goals to none other than Jim Dowd.
The Devils had like 35389 chances on the power play.
The Devils were unable to convert on said chances on power play.

The Devils shot, like, a lot.
The Devils are back to below .500 again.
The Devils hope to bump back up to .500 when they play the New York Islanders on Saturday.
The Devils can’t wait to have Jamie Langenbrunner back.
The Devils think Jamie might be back before Thanksgiving at this rate.

We need Colin White Back. Last night’s shutout aside, the Devs offense has generated lots of chances. However, the D cannot clear the front of the net. Just look at our penalty killing percentage or Marty’s save percentage. They are Terrible!! To many people are just having their way with the Devs D directly in front of the net. Any word when CW will be back in the line up.

No word, but he’s out for a while. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him out longer than Jamie.

poor logo…why does whitey always get hurt at important times, in practice. do they really hate him that much?

Here’s the solution, at least short term, to our problems on D:
Put Matvichuk and Rachunek on waivers. That clears up 2.768M and gives us enough to sign Markov. He may not be a true #1 D but he will at least bring some energy and veteran leadership to a group that is severely lacking.
That also keeps us $1.8M under the cap with enough flexibility for later in the season.
Dump KR now and let’s not make the same mistake we did w/Ken Klee.

Matvichuk will not be put on waivers. Lou already f’ed him over enough by not giving him a chance this year, but saying he wouldn’t waive Mattie and THEN put him on waivers would really be a huge blow to this team’s credibility.
Markov is not this team’s answer. Just gotta unfortunately wait for Whitey to make his comeback. Rachunek hasn’t been stellar defenseively, but he’s doing well stepping up into the play. People also need to realize that panic moves less than 10 games into the season generally don’t pan out. Give this team a chance. The defense is not great by any stretch, but it’s still too soon to make drastic changes.

does anyone else think that lou should shop Mattie a little, let him play to help our defense temporarily, i really don’t care if Sutter doesn’t like him for his new style, our defense is looking like a bunch of pee-wee players, dressed up in their daddy’s equipment.
