Things are looking good!

Wow…eight straight.

I, uh, will whole heartedly eat that crow now.

Oh, you know, I’m talking about this.

Hum dee dum…

But, seriously, I’m so amazingly stoked to see the boys playing so well. Granted, I haven’t been able to watch very many of these games, but all the same, eh?

Surely, I do hope that I am not the reason for the team’s recent success…

Nah…

Alas, I just wanted to apologize for a little bit of lag in posts ’round here. I know you lovely boys and girls come to expect the very best from this hum-dinger of a site (oh Doc…), but sometimes, sick happens.

I have been dealing with various ailments over the past few weeks, and while I have been trying oh so hard to soldier through this (lovely song by the lovely Garbage, a band loved by all the 2MA Crew), sometimes even I need to take a moment and, well, rest.

No worries, I’m starting to feel quite better now, and I will be good as new for next week’s batch of games. With more free time and less sickness in my body, I will surely be hitting 2MA harder than ever before.

Holler.

NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO LIVE-CAP FOR FRIDAY’S GAME. SO SORRY. WE WILL, HOWEVER, BE CAPPING SUNDAY’S AFFAIR, SO LOVE US FOR THAT.

PS NOTE: WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE WINNER OF THE 2MA STICKER CONTEST SHORTLY, SIT TIGHT!

Parise Elias and Gionta looked like the “A” line circa 2000 and 2001. If Patrick can just improve his faceoffs a bit, they will be upper echelon # 1 line. This line is jaw dropping to watch. After the Elias scored to make it 3-1, I felt like it was just a matter of time before the Devs tied up the game. I have also been impressed by Mike Mattou. His decision making at the point has been excellent and his tanacity on the PK has been relentless. Lets recap: 9 game road trip, lose Gomez and Rafalski, lose Jamie Langs and Colin White for 15+ games each, new building, new coach, new system, new journeymen defensemen = First Place! The natural order has surfaced.

I thought we were F’ed from the get go of the season. Now I’ll gladly eat my words.

Only thing I’m worried about is the lack of production from other lines. Zack, Gio and Elias are scoring a ton, which is great, but they can’t be the only line who scores. It becomes pretty easy for an opponent to shut us down if they just need to stop that line.

I hate to say it because we’re rolling, but when the roll is done, we should put Zack back on the line with Travis and Jamie. Maybe put Zubrus up with Gio and Elias. Thought that from the beginning, but that should expand our O.

The D is starting to shape up. Guys are learning their roles, becoming accountable. I agree with Randy, Mike Mottou is playing well. However Andy Green is starting to faulter a little bit.

    I don’t like Paul Martin wearing the A. He’s not a leader.

Ok, so we take the C away from patty.. nothing happens. We take the A away from patty, and VIOLA! 2005/2006ish type game! Keep it up patty, and we all won’t hate you and your 7 million a year.

I think part of Elias’s sudden energy is frustration with losing the C and watching it go to Langs. He did say after the game that it bothered him a bit. Hey, whatever it takes to get his rear in gear.

Patty’s skates seemed like they weren’t touching the ice, like he was just gliding along and pulling amazing shit
