Now, we all know that David Clarkson is a young star, in that he’s young, and that we like him quite a bit ’round these parts.
Well, apparently the NHL was paying attention - or felt bad that the Devils won’t have any representatives in Atlanta this weekend, what with Marty Brodeur and Brent Sutter both declining chances to participate in the All-Star game.
Either way, David Clarkson has been added to the YoungStars team, which will participate in a 3-on-3 competition during the SuperSkills Competition on Saturday night.
Hooray for Clarkie!
You may recall a Mr. Zach Parise pretty much owning the YoungStars game not too long ago. Perhaps Clarkson can continue the wave of Devil dominance over other baby NHLers league-wide? I think it’s a definite possibility.
Now, if only there were a way to have the game decided with a wrap-around contest…

Last year Zach was the only Young Star to play D, maybe this year Clarkson will be the only one to hit someone or gasp - fight lol.

I’m sad if this is the devil in the ASG that lou was talking about. Great for Clarky though, I think he should stay behind the net and wait for wrap around chances all night just like Malkin cherry picked at the red line last year. Watch Clarky get into a fight, that would be funny, he can fight Dubinsky, who’s on his team.

Good for Clarkie, and good for the NHL for acknowledging someone who grinds it out and finishes checks.
With that being said, considering he has to keep the gloves on the entire game I’m expecting atleast 3 wrap arounds and one attempted dangle that ends tragically for someone.

I’d rather Pelley get the call to participate in the “Sharp angle backhand” competition.

I love this guy. He does have a nice amount of skill and as he gets more expierence I forsee David being a 20 goal scorer with an edge. Zach should have been picked for the ASG. A first place team with a #3 over all power ranking should have a player in the game.

The ASG is all about hype, not really the Devils style, more like the style of that team across the river…..all show and no-go.
Even Sutter found a way to weasel out of it, he was supposed to be an alt coach.
We would rather have the hockey world watch us playing in June….when it matters most.
