A Royal Beat-Down Is In Order

Ok, we sucked against the Rangers. Again. Josh already covered that. Next page…

The LA Kings are in town tonight. The worst team in the NHL. Rob Blake won’t be playing.

Sure, some will say that they are a team with “nothing to lose.” I say: I don’t care.

I’m tired of excuses. I’m tired of looking on the bright side of things. I’m tired of watching the Devils eat it game in and game out. The Devils have been an absolute disgrace since the all-star break and have shown little hope of erasing that title. Tonight’s showdown is a major measuring stick that will gauge what – if anything – needs to be done at the trade deadline. In a nutshell, if the boys can’t get the job done tonight, there will be no more controversy over whether or not to hit the panic button. Because I’ll be standing on it.

I’m not interested in seeing a “60-minute-effort” tonight, or a “good fundamental game.” I want to see the Devils absolutely beat the snot out of Los Angeles. It’s something the Devils need to do to wake themselves up and remind themselves that this is the NHL. Kinda like when you fear for your buddy because he’s been out getting weekly pedicures so you take him to a UFC pay-per-view. That’s the kinda kick-in-the-junk the Devils need to give themselves tonight.

A loss tonight will not only give me much reason to mock every single member of the organization, it will continue the sad, depressing downward spiral through the standings that they have created for themselves. It’s not exactly rocket science to understand that you will not go far, if anywhere, if you can’t win in your own division. Well, since the Devs can’t seem to do that lately, perhaps a change of conference may help them. Or at least I’m praying it will.

There is no excuse for anything less than a solid beat-down tonight. I honestly don’t know what else to say.

No game coverage?! Well, it is Saturday night….

Hopefully 6-3 is your definition of a solid beat-down. ;)

I realize now that I completely forgot to post a livecap schedule this week. Oops. That one’s on me, gang. There will be a LiveCap sched for next week, though, and there will be at least two caps, I promise!

^I know dude, best Super Bowl ever. Being a Hatriot since their Super Bowl against St. Louis, it’s good to see those cheating overhyped scumbags fall like they did. Way to go Eli; you Giants fans deserve it!
